Dr. Chapman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University. He regularly gives DBT workshops, supervises students’ clinical work with multi-problem clients, and consults with clinicians in Canada and the US. Dr. Chapman received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia (in Vancouver, Canada) and his M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Idaho State University (APA-accredited).

Dr. Chapman has published numerous empirical and theoretical articles and has given over 70 professional presentations on topics such as self-harm, borderline personality disorder (BPD), suicidal behavior, DBT, and impulsive behavior, among other topics. In Sept 2007, Dr. Chapman received the Young Investigator’s Award from the National Education.
